What is the PERTS Assistant in Elevate?

The PERTS Assistant in Elevate is a chat tool that references Elevate’s Support Portal to offer fast, on-demand answers to common questions, saving you from searching through PERTS’ collection of 160+ support articles and guides that have been developed over the last several years.

The Assistant does not generate responses from general internet knowledge. This means the Assistant can primarily answer questions about Elevate survey administration, how to use the Elevate platform, and PERTS’ concepts. If a question falls outside of what the Support Portal covers, the Assistant is designed to point you to the most relevant support article or help you get in contact with the PERTS team.

You can find the Assistant via the chat icon in the upper-right corner of any Elevate page. Click the icon to open a chat pane, type a question, and get an immediate response.

Below are a few frequently asked questions, and their answers, about the Assistant, including how it handles your data and how to disable it for your organization, if desired.

Does the Assistant access student data? No, the Assistant does not access raw user or student data, such as survey responses, report data, or any other personally identifiable information. Its knowledge is limited to Elevate’s Support Portal content. It cannot access school, classroom, or student data. This also means that the Assistant cannot offer customized recommendations based on specific survey results, but it can point you to general resources, like our resource library.

Are interactions with the Assistant recorded? Yes, conversations with the Assistant are logged so the PERTS team can review the accuracy of the Assistant’s responses and improve it over time. This review is wholly focused on the Assistant’s performance and not on evaluating individuals. In fact, all interactions are kept confidential and stripped of user identification.

Can I disable the Assistant? Individuals can choose to not engage with the Assistant. If an organization would like to disable the Assistant altogether for all users within their license, they can reach out to their Partnership Manager to do so. When the Assistant is disabled, the same chat icon and pane will appear, however, entering a question will result in a search of the Support Portal and the most relevant article(s) will appear, rather than an AI-generated response that pulls relevant information from multiple articles to best answer a specific question.
